I found some old Gainesville Photos just after the tornado of 1936. Thought you all might find them interesting. Looks like massive destruction. I am told that there were a total of 203 lives lost and almost 13 million dollars of property damage. This storm ranked 5th in most deadlest tornados in America. All I can say is wow!
